The EPS commenced sourcing operations under the centralised procurement model in 2015 and has responsibility for the sourcing of goods and services in its sector-led categories namely Laboratory/Research, Agriculture and Veterinary and Library Goods & Services.

The OGP, EPS and its sector partners are putting in place framework agreements and contracts through which all public sector bodies can buy goods and services. As the State buys a wide range of common goods and services, the sourcing model is broken down into 16 categories of expenditure.

The EPS has established a dedicated customer service-led approach to provide a high-quality professional service to both our clients and suppliers. The EPS Sourcing team includes highly experienced Category Managers, Senior Category Specialists, Buyers and Procurement Administration, which provides proactive and reactive information, assistance and support to all stakeholders.

Our category specialists in the Laboratory Team are responsible for the sourcing and procurement of Laboratory/Research Diagnostics, Services and Equipment including large scale lab equipment, small scale lab equipment, lab consumables, lab gases, chemicals and reagents etc.

Our category specialists in the Agriculture/Veterinary and Library Team are responsible for the sourcing and procurement of Agriculture/Veterinary Goods and Services including large scale equipment/machinery and small scale equipment as well as books, journals and periodicals etc. in the library space.

The Education Strategic Category manages a range of bespoke procurement solutions for the Education Sector. In instances where the OGP sourcing teams are not in a position to onboard a procurement support request from an education sector PSB, for goods and services under one of its central categories, these requests are triaged to the EPS team. The team take on the responsibility of sourcing these projects, acting in the best interest and on behalf of the education stakeholder.
