PS2562C – CFT for the Provision of an Upskilling Programme in Irish for Post-Primary Teachers.

Gerry Kennedy Interim Category Manager for the Education Procurement Service acted as project lead and collaborated with the Department of Education to procure the services of a higher education institution to design, develop and deliver an upskilling programme of study in the post-primary curricular subject of Irish.

The development of upskilling programmes supports the commitment of the Department to providing opportunities for teacher professional learning across the continuum of teacher education, particularly in the context of the Teaching Council’s work with Cosán, the national framework for teachers’ learning.

Building on the success of the existing upskilling programmes in mathematics, Spanish and physics, the Department of Education with the procurement support of EPS invited tender submissions for the provision of a flexible upskilling programme in Irish, on conclusion of the procurement process Trintiy College Dublin were identified as the most economically advantageous tenderer.

The Education Procurement Service looks forward to providing continued procurement support to the Department of Education on their future upskilling programmes.
